So far, the Standard Model (SM) of particle physics received impressive confirmation from high and low energy experiments. However, in recent years, very intriguing hints for the violation of lepton flavour universality (LFU), which is satisfied in the SM, have been accumulated. These anomalies are most prominent in semi-leptonic B decays but also the anomalous magnetic moment of the muon can be considered as a hint for the violating of LFU. After reviewing the current experimental and theoretical status, I will focus on explaining the flavour anomalies with new physics models. Beside the possibilities of new gauge bosons or Higgses, leptoquarks can provide a natural explanation. In this context, the leptoquark of the famous Pati-Salam model, which unifies Quarks and Leptons, is especially interesting.
