Description
This workshop will span a large range of topics with a common theme: how can physics improve our understanding of the principles governing biological processes? How can the physics of non-equilibrium, active matter and the properties of dynamical systems describe biological systems at the molecular, cellular, and tissue scale? The aim of the meeting is to celebrate the remarkable contribution of Frank Jülicher in bringing together physics and biology, and talks will be given by his collaborators over the years. The registration fee for the international workshop is 120 Euro and should be paid by all participants. Costs for accommodation and meals will be covered by the Max Planck Institute. Limited funding is available to partially cover travel expenses. Please note that childcare is available upon request. Topics include: - Physics of active matter - Cytoskeletal dynamics - Tissues and developmental processes - Molecular motors - Cellular transport - Physics of hearing - Biophysics of signalling
