Description
Abstract: In agent based models for opinion formation, one usually considers dynamical rules which are locally determined. Otherwise, one may consider infinite range models or long range models where the range of interaction is fixed. We discuss a set of models in which this range is not fixed in time as the opinions are governed by the size of the neighbouring domains of an agent. Coarsening phenomena in one dimension shows that these models belong to a new universality class. Exit probability, which is an important aspect of opinion dynamics models, is also studied which shows that a universal scaling behaviour exists in such models.
