Description
The important strategy for ductility improvement in the ultrafine structured metallic materials is development of the multi-scale grain structure. Nano- and ultrafine grains effectively strengthen a material while coarse grains contribute to its plasticity. Here we report about a new family of as-cast bi-modal Ti-based alloys with significantly improved tensile ductility. The developed alloys have a high application potential as spring and biomedical materials
