Description
The first part of this series of lectures aims at providing a rather detailed discussion on inverse positive matrices. For this purpose, certain basic results on nonnegative matrices will be surveyed. Recent extensions of results on inverse positivity to the case of the space of real symmetric matrices, mainly in the context of semidefinite linear complementarity problems will form the second part. The third part will detail certain generalizations to the case of nonnnegativity of the Moore-Penrose generalized inverse. This discussion will include a rather comprehensive account of the Moore-Penrose inverse both for the matrix case and for the case of Hilbert space operators. Some new results on inverse positivity of Banach space operator intervals will form the last part of this series. Certain open problems also will be posed.
