 n of nuclear quantum dynamics provides valuable insight into basic chemica
 l reactions\, especially in photochemistry and atmospheric chemistry. Over
  decades\, chemical physicist have developed semiclassical approximations 
 as a powerful computational tool allowing the simulation of large molecula
 r quantum systems\, as for example liquid water. The talk reviews differen
 t mathematical formulations of quantum dynamics and corresponding semiclas
 sical approximations\, before focusing on Wigner-type methods and their hi
 gher order cor-rections.
