 cal approach to control the robot behavior is to supress noise in order to
  obtain clear\, deterministic states. On the other hand\, biological syste
 ms are found to utilize random fluctuations\, i.e. noise\, naturally exist
 ing in its internal system and environment. The phenomena have not only be
 en shown to equip biological systems with flexibility to adapt to differen
 t environments\, but also increase their energy efficiency. In this talk\,
  I will present and discuss the application of this concept to realize an 
 adaptive and efficient searching behavior in simple mobile robot. More spe
 cifically\, I will present a generalized mathematical model of biological 
 fluctuation phenomena\, which is used to control the behavior of the robot
  such that it performs variants of an energy efficient search strategy kno
 wn as Lévy Walks.
