- Description
- Generalized additive decompositions (GADs) are representations of symmetric tensors that encode intrinsic geometric information. In particular, the rank of a homogeneous form can be recovered from suitable minimal such decompositions. Computing these objects presents two main challenges: reducing a global decomposition problem to local ones, and finding optimal decompositions of the resulting local pieces. In this talk, we address the second task: for a given degree d homogeneous form F, we look for linear forms L such that F minimally decomposes as F
