\nDescription: The transformation of our energy system is driven not only
by climate change and the finite availability of fossil resources\, but a
lso by the need for greater energy independence and resilience. Hydrogen o
ffers a versatile pathway towards a sustainable and geographically diversi
fied energy supply.&amp\;#13\; It can be produced from various primary ene
rgy sources\, stored as a gas\, liquid or chemical compound\, and transpor
ted by road\, rail\, pipeline or sea. Its applications range from fuel cel
ls and direct combustion to steelmaking\, chemical production and climate-
friendly mobility.&amp\;#13\; In this talk\, I will outline the technologi
cal pathways of hydrogen from production\, storage and transport to its di
verse applications. I will also discuss its role in the energy and mobilit
y transition and show how the National Hydrogen Innovation Centre in Chemn
itz will help accelerate the development and industrialisation of hydrogen
  technologies.
