- Description
- Two dimensional (2D) semiconductors such as transition metal dichalcogenides (TMDs) are layered materials that have gained interest for sensing and optoelectronic applications because of their unique properties including tunable electronic properties by surface states, high surface-to-volume ratio, and high absorption coefficient. This talk presents asymmetric geometry MoS2 diode-based biosensors for the detection of TNF-alpha, a proinflammatory cytokine and 2D semiconductors for the detection of volatile organic compounds. Monolayer MoS2 Field-effect-transistors fabricated at Forschungszentrum Jülich using the gold-assisted exfoliation technique are discussed for gas and odor sensing application.
