- Description
- For this dummies, I’ll be covering a—somewhat old—method in the study of classical non equilibrium systems known as the Doi-Peliti formalism. In a nutshell, it’s a way to map a classical master equation to a quantum bosonic hamiltonian. I’ll demonstrate how the mapping works for the single species reaction diffusion process A+A->0. In the process I’ll try to explain some utilities of the formalism and possibly comment on relations to some other field theoretic formulations of stochastic processes. I hope this topic appeals to people working on: classical and quantum nonequilibrium dynamics, ground states of quantum systems and applications of quantum field theory.
