- Description
- Ute Kalender, Feministische Digitalmanifeste als Mikroarchive kommender Körper? In Archives of the Body (https://www.archives-of-the-body.hfbk.net/) (2024) Ute Kalender, Cyborgs, Tryborgs, Techno-Ableismus. Perspektiven der feministischen Disability Studies auf künstlich-intelligente Gesundheitstechnologien (https://www.opengenderjournal.de/article/download/212/109) in Open Gender Journal (Jun 2023). How do feminist and queer perspectives influence the development and use of artificial intelligence? What role do bodies, disability, and technology play in an increasingly digitalized world? These and other questions are at the center of our event, where we will discuss two texts by Dr. Ute Kalender. Ute Kalender (https://utekalender.de/) is a scholar with an interdisciplinary profile in gender studies, media studies, and participatory research. In addition to her academic work in research and teaching, she has been a member of the German Ethics Council since October 2024. Her research focuses include gender and science studies, queer disability theory, and the digitalization of care and healthcare. At the end of 2024, we read her contribution Queer-crip Perspektiven auf die Cyborg-Figur im Kontext von Künstlicher Intelligenz in the anthology Queere KI. Zum Coming-out smarter Maschinen (https://www.transcript-verlag.de/978-3-8376-6189-7/queere-ki/). Together, we will read and discuss the texts Feministische Digitalmanifeste als Mikroarchive kommender Körper? from the book project Archives of the Body (https://www.archives-of-the-body.hfbk.net/) and Cyborgs, Tryborgs, Techno-Ableismus. Perspektiven der feministischen Disability Studies auf künstlich-intelligente Gesundheitstechnologien (https://www.opengenderjournal.de/article/download/212/109). These texts offer fascinating insights into the intersections of gender, technology, and health. They invite us to reflect on the role of bodies and identities in a technologized world. For further reading, we recommend the book ChatGPT und andere »Quatschmaschinen«; Gespräche mit Künstlicher Intelligenz (https://www.transcript-verlag.de/978-3-8376-6908-4/chatgpt-und-andere-quatschmaschinen/), in which Ute Kalender contributed a chapter. We warmly invite all interested participants to join this interdisciplinary discussion and develop new perspectives together.
