Description
Dr. Patrick Ebel leads the Junior Research Group CIAO at ScaDS.AI Dresden/Leipzig and works at the intersection of machine learning, human–computer interaction, and mobility. In this lecture, he will explore computational models that simulate human interaction behavior. These models can help evaluate user interfaces, predict how people will use them, and reveal how design decisions affect user performance. After motivating why simulating human behavior is increasingly valuable for modern interface design, Patrick will trace the development of compuatational user model from early methods in HCI to novel approaches like computational rationality and biomechanical modeling, highlighting how these methods open new possibilities for research and design.
