Description
In this talk I will try to give an overview on one important line of research in our group at the University of Guadalajara. It is devoted to stochastic processes which are partially quantum and therefore described in terms of quantum channels, but which are at the same time close to a classical stochastic process. We are particularly interested in processes where macroscopic observables show distinct behaviors as compared to the purely classical case. Examples are the basic linear Ising chain, and a particular type of random Ising graphs. Here, I will focus on our attempts to understand (i) what it means that a certain process is **close** to a classical one, and (ii) how to understand the differences in behavior of macroscopic observables.
