 <p><strong>Host:</strong> Michael Schlierf (B CUBE)</p> <p><strong>Title:<
/strong> \"Single Molecule Dynamics of Protein Nucleic Acids: From Gene Ed
 iting to Chromatin Remodelling\"</p> <p><strong>Abstract: </strong>The Rue
da Lab investigates the molecular mechanisms that regulate epigenetic proc
esses involved in human diseases\, such as cancer and neurodegenerative di
sorders. To this aim\, we develop and apply single-molecule approaches to
image the structural dynamics of protein-nucleic acid complexes across sca
les (from molecules to cells). We are particularly interested in elucidati
ng various mechanistic aspects of chromatin processing and gene expression
regulation\, such as chromatin structure and remodeling\, DNA damage and
repair\, and gene editing. In this seminar\, I will present our latest fin
dings on how CRISPR/Cas9 finds off-targets and the chromatin remodeling me
 chanism of ySWR1. </p>
