- Description
- The topic of spin-caloric transport, combines the fields of spintronics and thermoelectricity and thus allows to shine light on the interplay between spin, charge and heat currents in magnetic materials. While many studies in this field have investigated macroscopic materials and devices, our work at PTB has mainly focussed on thermoelectric studies of magnetic systems on the nano scale. In my talk I will give an overview on the different spin-caloric effects that have been studied by our group over the last years. I will start discussing the tunnel magneto Seebeck effect in magnetic tunnel junction nanopillars [1], then I will discuss the measurement of the magneto Seebeck signal of a single magnetic domain wall [2] and how the anomalous Nernst effect can be used to trace the motion of a magnetic domain wall [3], and I will end with the recent observation of the thermoelectric signature of a single magnetic Skyrmion [4].
