- The O-RAN specifications as developed by the O-RAN Alliance describe an open, modular and mainly software-based implementation of a 3GPP compliant 5G radio access network (NR RAN). The talk will give an overview of the O-RAN architecture, its components and interfaces. Based on the technical description the talk will report about security implications, i.e. will give some insights with respect to the question: How secure will an O-RAN based radio access network be if built according to the specifications.
