- Description
While neutrino oscillation is an experimentally verified lepton flavor violating
(LFV) phenomenon, which however does not necessarily require drastic changes
in the standard model (SM) of particle physics, since it could for instance be
taken into account by inserting non zero dirac neutrino masses in the model,
any experimental observation of a LFV process in the charged lepton sector
(CLFV) would only be imputable to new physics (NP) beyond the SM (BSM).
I will present a review of the current experimental limits on CLFV processes,
of the compelling theoretical reasons for actively searching BSM physics in this
way and of the experimental activities going on and planned for the future.- Links
