- Description
- The aim of the talk is to present the available data management and processing resources at the NIC. In a short overview storage locations and data flows are outlined. The NIC-DB and the XNAT research database are introduced. The primary focus of the presentation will be the MR image processing framework NICePype (Neuroimaging Center Python Pipelines), which offers intuitive and efficient access to optimized pipelines through a web interface. The core of the processing framework uses Nipype, an open source neuroimaging data processing framework in Python. Thus, we benefit from a large developer community and numerous interfaces to the software packages used in neuroimaging (e.g. FSL, FreeSurfer, SPM...). The NICePype is suitable for a heterogeneous hardware environment where the pipelines are executed in parallel. Computations are automatically started and monitored taking into account CPU, memory and hard disk requirements. Furthermore, a quality assurance web tool to assess motion correction, co-registration, and normalization is provided. The web interfaces and the underlying processing framework will be demonstrated.
