Description
We designed the functional biodegradable polymers with ester free structure, in order to avoid the acidic compounds generation after hydrolysis. We selected trimethylene carbonate (TMC) as a monomer, and the functional group was introduced as a side group. For example, we introduced oligo(ethylene glycol) (OEG) units as a thermoresponsive group. The copolymerization of TMC derivatives gave hydrophilic-hydrophobic block copolymer, and it was used for thin film preparation. The hydrogel was also prepared for the possible biomedical applications. We also utilized polylactides with functional chain-end groups and stereocomplex formation in order to apply medical polymer materials.
