Description
We cordially invite you to a seminar within the BioDIP Lighthouse Seminar Series on different microscopy techniques: 3D SIM, a superresolution technique accessible to you on the Campus. Structured Illumination, as implemented in e.g. the Apotome is primarily used to increase image contrast only. However, using a 3D structured illumination pattern of light further benefits of even higher contrast and doubled resolution are possible. The introduction will be given by Daniel J. White who is the application scientist for high/super resolution microscopy at GE Healthcare. Moreover two colleagues who already applied 3D SIM in their research projects will give a practical insight into the pros & cons of the technology: Andreas Müller (PLID) and Sandra Segeltz (MPI-CBG).
