Description

I will discuss the logical possibility that the lightest baryonic constituent of matter - the proton - may not be absolutely stable as asserted by a very popular class of beyond-Standard model theories called Grand Unification. The testability of this hypothesis at the future megaton-scale experimental facilities will be briefly commented upon.
