- Description
- The vortices I will consider in this talk obey first order non-linear partial differential equations on a Riemann surface and can be re-interpreted as defining a singular geometry with conical defects on the surface. This geometric interpretation can be seen most easily in the language Cartan connections. I will concentrate on a family of integrable vortex equations and show how they can also be used to obtain zero-modes of magnetic Dirac operators in three dimensions.
