- Description
- An approach to treat magnetic energy of a ferromagnet for arbitrary curved wires and shells is proposed. It is shown that the curvature induces two effective magnetic interactions: effective magnetic anisotropy and an effective Dzyaloshinskii-like interaction. A variety of new effects are predicted using this approach: (i) a torsion induced symmetry breaking appears in dispersion relation for magnons in a helix shaped wire; (ii) a local wire bend is a source of pinning potential for a domain wall; (iii) the spin-current driven domain wall motion along a helix wire experiences the curvature induced Walker limit shift and the torsion induced shift of the nonadiabatic parameter; (iv) a coupling of chirality of the magnetization structure and geometrical chirality the curvilinear magnet can appear. .
