- Description
- About the research of Dr. Waltereit: Many diseases in child and adolescent psychiatry are neurodevelopmental disorders – autism spectrum disorder, ADHD, intelligence deficiency and schizophrenia. The neurodevelopmental disturbances are expression of the underlying neurobiological pathomechanisms. Our goal is to study global and social cognition in the context of these diseases, using molecular and behavioural methods, focusing on animal models. We try to contribute to better understanding of the pathophysiology of these diseases and the development of experimental therapies.
