 re processes of ongoing social change. In the course of mediatization\, co
 mmunication increasingly manifests itself via mass media or telecommunicat
 ions. Thus\, more and more information becomes accessible in the form of d
 ata. Digitization converts data into universal digital  formats which eas
 es computer processing\, leads to the convergence of different media\, and
  thus further fosters mediatization. While consequences concerning the sub
 jects\, objects\, and addressees of research in the social sciences and hu
 manities have rarely been reflected upon\, this  reflection will lie at t
 he center of the Summer School REDA. The summer school is  supposed to br
 ing together researchers who systematically illuminate research ethics in 
 the above-mentioned sense.<br /><br />The opening Keynote „Ethics in the
  Age of Information“ will be held by Luciano Floridi. Floridi is Profess
 or of Philosophy and Ethics of Information at the University of Oxford\, w
 here he is the Director of Research of the Oxford Internet Institute. Amon
 g his current positions\, he is member of Google Advisory Board on “the 
 right to be forgotten” and Chairman of the Ethics Advisory Board of the 
 European Medical Information Framework (EMIF).<br /><br />The German Excel
 lence Initiative funds the summer school and its participants from all ove
