- Radionuclide speciation and fate governs the behaviour of radionuclides in the environment. Here I will present a series of case studies examining radionuclide behaviour in environmental systems relevant to waste disposal and contaminated land management. Examples looking at biogeochemistry / mineralogy and their impact on the behaviour of radionuclides will be presented and the concept of a "biomineral" barrier discussed.
