- The workshop will focus on the fundamental physsics of 1D systems and emerging phenomena. Topics include: - transport in quantum wires (e.g. disorder, inter- actions and out-of-equilibrium phenomena) - edge states of quantum Hall systems and topological insulators - Majorana edge modes and zero-energy Majorana states - quantum spin chains and ladders - cold atoms in 1D traps, quantum quenches - superconducting wires and Josephson junction chains - 1D physics in quasi-1D structures (weakly coupled 1D systems
