SUMMARY:Lukyanchuk: Topology in Ferroelectric vs. Topology in Magnetism
CLASS:PUBLIC

 rsity of Picardie\, Amiens/France\nTopics:\n\n Location:\n Name: IFW (D2E

ctured ferroelectrics\, focusing on the discovery of novel topological pol
arization structures. We challenge the initial interpretation of these str
 uctures - vortices\, skyrmions\, merons\, and others - which were analogiz
ed to magnetic systems based on real-space vector field topology. However\
, this approach overlooks the pivotal role of long-range electrostatic for
ces in ferroelectricity. By presenting a new topological framework\, topol
ogical hydrodynamics of ferroelectricity\, which is centered on the electr
ostatic essence of ferroelectricity. We revise recent trends and observed
structures in the field. Our analysis categorizes these complex structures
into fundamental formations: vortices and Hopfions. The emergence of Hopf
ions is particularly notable for introducing chirality into confined ferro
electric systems\, offering a richer understanding of these materials. .
