: Polymorphic PtBi2 has been identified as a main candidate to study novel
electronic states in topological materials. The superconducting y-phase a
ttracts especial interest as recent reports from surface-sensitive techniq
ues find strong enhancement of SC when compared to Tc=0.6 K and &amp\;amp\
;#956\;0Hc2=0.06 T reported in bulk crystals. I will present our* first fi
ndings based on electrical resistivity measurements on a high-quality sing
le crystal of y-PtBi2 grown in our Lab. We detect a SC state with a critic
al temperature Tc = 1.1 K\, and an enhanced critical field &amp\;amp\;#956
 \;0Hc2 &amp\;amp\;#8819\; 1.5 T with an unusual weak anisotropy. Both Tc a
nd Hc2 are the highest reported so far in stoichiometric bulk samples at z
ero pressure. We currently interpret the asymmetric broadening of the resi
stive transition under field\, along with a low critical current-density J
c ~ 40 A/cm2 at H = 0\, as result of an inhomogeneous SC state in the samp
