Abstract: Dr. Jean-Pierre Gorvel, Ph.D, Director of Research (DRCE2) at CNRS, France is leading projects in the field of infectious diseases. He is Doctor es Sciences from Aix-Marseille University, Marseille since 1986. Back in Marseille, his laboratory has been leading the field of brucellosis from 2000 till now. He manages interdisciplinary approaches associating cell biology of infections, genomics, structure biology and transcriptomics to investigate immune responses of patients and animals. He is involved in several projects focused on the study of brucellosis, salmonellosis, tuberculosis and whooping-cough. Nowadays, his research focuses on vaccine and new adjuvant design and in the development of new diagnostic tools devoted to translational research in the field of infectious diseases.
