The Technische Universität of Dresden and the Boysen-TU Dresden-Research Training Group warmly invite master’s students, PhD students, and young professionals to take part in the 1st Mobility in Transition Summer School. The event is online and free of charge.
Today’s mobility of people and goods is undergoing a fundamental and long-term change. While many countries worldwide shift away from the previously car-friendly paradigm to promote sustainable transport, there is also a push towards the electrification of motorized vehicles and the search for alternative engine technologies across the automotive industry.
Which challenges stem from the mobility transition? Which disruptive technologies and innovations drive the mobility transition? Which technological and societal solutions on an international scale should be pursued to foster the mobility transition? These questions are at the heart of transport systems today and shape them as socio-technical ones, characterized by the interplay of humans and technology.
In close cooperation with DRESDEN-Concept partners such as the Leibniz Institute of Ecological Urban and Regional Development (IÖR) and the UNU Institute for Integrated Management of Material Fluxes and Resources (UNU-FLORES), the Summer School sheds light on these issues across five themes: ‘Policy and Governance’, ‘Technologies and Infrastructure’, ‘Markets’, ‘Culture’, and ‘Mobility Patterns’.
