Null-controllability of the heat equation on some bounded and unbounded domains

- In this talk we give an overview of recent results on the null-controllability of the controlled heat equation on a $d$-dimensional cube, on $\mathbb{R}^d$, on infinite strips in $\mathbb{R}^d$, on half-spaces, and on (positive) orthants, with a control set satisfying a specific geometric condition, namely $(\gamma, a)$-thickness. We show that $(\gamma, a)$-thickness is a necessary and sufficient condition for null-controllability of the controlled heat equation on the unbounded domains considered and we give explicit control cost estimates in dependence of the geometric parameters. In particular, the control cost estimate on the cube and on the other unbounded domains are consistent. This talk is based on joint works with I. Veselic and A. Seelmann.
