- I got my PhD in chemical physics in 2006 from Charles University, Prague. I studied classical and quantum molecular dynamics. During my final year of PhD I started to work in a bank as a data warehouse analyst. Later on I moved to an insurance company. Currently I work as a freelance IT business analyst in a bank and deal mainly with these areas: regulatory reporting, accounting, payment cards. In my career talk I will look back on my switch from academia to corporation, focusing on: the rules of the game: publish or perish vs financial results and market constraints; deep work and avoiding BS; helping people and feedback; management style
