       We would like to invite you to attend our symposium “Models and Im
 aging in Translational Neuroscience” in Dresden. The symposium will be h
 eld from the 6th September to the 7th September 2018 at the OncoRay – Na
 tional Center for Radiation Research in Oncology (Building 130).    The sy
 mposium will provide an overview of different models and research methods 
 of central nervous system pathologies. The topics range from brain tumor r
 esearch in vitro to in vivo models of brain tumors to models of spinal cor
 d injury and stroke.    Main topics of the symposium are:  1. Brain tumors
 \, stroke and spinal cord injury models (in vitro\, in vivo\, basics of an
 imal experiments)  2. Experimental therapies in neuroscience  3. Translati
 onal imaging (models\, small animal imaging\, optical techniques)    We wi
 ll discuss regulatory and methodical aspects and provide protocols. Beside
 s\, we will address conceptual aspects:  -  What is the best method for gi
 ven condition?  -  Is an animal experiment a reasonable approach or do alt
 ernatives exist?  -  What technical aspects have to be considered for tran
 slational application in humans?    Furthermore\, the symposium provides a
 n insight into the diversity of the scientific infrastructure at the Unive
 rsity Hospital Carl Gustav Carus\, the TU Dresden and the associated facil
 ities.    The symposium is FREE to attend but we would like you to registe
