- Beschreibung
- Electron spin resonance is a versatile tool to study correlated phenomena in metals. Its primary measurables are the conduction electron spin-susceptibility (or the DOS), the line position or g-factor, and the linewidth. Of these, DOS is sensitive to correlated phenomena (e.g. superconductivity) which affects the Fermi surface, and the g-factor and linewidth depends on the spin-orbit interaction (SOI). I highlight a few examples to demonstrate the rich applications of ESR in this area including the superconducting MgB2 [1-3], single-wall carbon nanotubes with a Tomonaga-Luttinger liquid ground state [4,5], alkali fullerides which has a chemically tunable SOI [5] and our more recent work on alkali atom doped graphene.
